BPI Strengthens Ties with OF Families, Partners with OWWA in the 2011 MOFYA

The Bank of the Philippine Islands joined the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in recognizing outstanding overseas Filipino families through the annual Model OFW Family of the Year Award (MOFYA) held recently at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza. Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada who is also currently the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development and of the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on Labor and Employment and Vice President Jejomar Binay, currently the Presidential Adviser for OFW Concerns were also present to honor the MOFYA awardees. BPI Honors Outstanding Overseas Filipino Kids

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) honoured 10 outstanding children of OFWs in the recently concluded Awarding Ceremony of the 2011 Search for the Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Manila. Leading the event were BPI President Aurelio Montinola and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz. Ten OFW Expat Pinoy children were cited among this year’s Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children of BPI with eight Ibang Klaseng Talino awardees, and one awardee each for Ibang Klaseng Community Leader and Ibang Klaseng Athlete categories. The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) calls on children of Overseas Filipinos (OF) to join the country’s biggest yet search for Expat Pinoy Children, the 2011 Search for the Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children. This year, BPI brings a bigger and wider search for exemplary OF children as it celebrates its 160th anniversary celebration. Now on its 5th year, the Search for Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy children will award students with exceptional achievements in academic and non-academic fields for the Ibang Klaseng Talino, Ibang Klaseng Community Leader, Ibang Klaseng Entrepreneur, and Ibang Klaseng Artist/Athlete categories.
