Being new in the field of Public Relations, I initially felt like a kid trying to figure out the shape sorter: how specific shapes fit in the different holes. I needed people who could be there to guide, encourage and walk with me. Being in a team requires humility, knowing that there are people in the group with different levels of experience. My colleagues who have already experienced what I was going through were willing to help and encourage me. Being part of a team is like a relay race: how you run affects all your teammates, as well as the success of the entire team. The BSA team knows that it’s not about feeling the pride of reaching a higher level on your own; it’s all about acknowledging that a body wouldn’t function well when other parts are not present –remembering that a head cannot do what your foot does. Through this experience, I appreciate the value of the team even more.
